Hootie & The Blowfish will hit the road this summer looking for school supplies.

Since 2003, the Grammy award-winning band has held a concert in Charleston where attendees are asked to donate school supplies.

Starting June 27, the band's taking that drive around the country with a 24-stop "Homegrown Concert Series" tour.

The tour begins in New Braunfels, Texas, and concludes Aug. 15 at Charleston's Family Circle Stadium. Hootie singer Darius Rucker says when children have proper resources, they can receive a meaningful education.
