A summer thriller, a summer comedy, and the Emmy winner for best comedy are some of what’s new in DVD this week.

At least, that’s what everyone thinks is going on in “The Happening”.

But with people jumping off the sides of buildings, it becomes clear Something else is up in this thriller starring Mark Wahlberg.

This is the latest effort from director M. Night Shyamalan and he introduces some of the bonus features in this R-rated release.

Emmy winner Alec Baldwin appears in a deleted scene from season two of The Emmy winner for best comedy, “30 Rock”.

It’s one of the numerous bonus features in the set, which also includes a table read and display of the scripts.

There’s also a live performance of the script at a university.

Britney Spears’ appearance last season on “How I Met Your Mother” is among the episodes you’ll find in the show’s 3 disc third season DVD set.

Neil Patrick Harris’ Emmy nominated performance as Barney is also showcased both in the episodes.

And speaking of big guys at a loss for words.

The late Peter Boyle appears in “Young Frankstein or, “Frankensteeen” if you prefer.

This Mel Brooks’ classic arrives on Blu-ray this week.

Extras include brooks’ commentary, as well as deleted scenes.
