A Summerville teen who admitted to beating, torturing and killing cats will spend three months in a boot-camp-style prison program.
Nineteen-year-old Christopher Campbell pleaded guilty Wednesday to eight counts of ill treatment to animals and to threatening his ex-girlfriend in emails and phone calls.
Campbell was arrested in October 2007, after workers at the Peace Presbyterian Church found the mutilated cats in a dumpster.
Judge Markley Dennis gave Campbell the option of attending 90 days of the shock incarceration program. He will be under probation for 10 years afterwards.
Campbell received credit for 30 days served on the harassment charge.
