A second man has been arrested in the shooting of a man in North Charleston who died earlier this month.

Dorchester County Sheriff’s 1st Sgt. Michael Miller says 28-year-old Roger Dewayne Rutledge was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Monday at a North Charleston apartment complex.

Rutledge is charged with murder in the Aug. 29 shooting of 24-year-old Herman Ward. He was found lying in a road and was flown to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, where he died earlier this month.

Twenty-three year-old Xavier Terrel Walker of North Charleston was arrested and charged with murder in the case Sept. 5.

The Charleston County jail had no record of an attorney for Rutledge on Tuesday.
