Acquitted trooper to be reinstated

The South Carolina trooper acquitted of civil rights violations could be reinstated as early as today.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety says Trooper Steve Garren will be back on patrol, but didn’t specify if that decision would indeed come today.
A jury found LCpl Garren not guilty after a four day trial last week.
Prosecutors say Garren intentionally hit a suspect with his cruiser who tried to run from him.
