Charleston County moves to OPCON 2 as Tropical Storm Hanna continues to make it’s move toward the southeast coast of the United States.

According to Charleston County Emergency managers they made the decision based on information made during a conference call this morning with state officials, and the National Weather Service.

OPCON 2, which is short for Operating Condition 2, means a disaster or emergency situation is in effect, and the Emergency Operations Center is fully activated.

Most of the South Carolina coast is under a HURRICANE WATCH and there is a chance we could see hurricane force winds as early as Friday afternoon.

News 2 will air the EOC’s news conference coming up today at 12:30 PM.
