Saquan Meekins remains in jail Thursday afternoon after a judge issued a $50,000 bond.
Meekins is charged with Homicide by Child Abuse in the death of 10-year-old Johnny Jackson. The boy died in June, one hour after leaving the pool in what medical experts called “dry drowning.“ According to the original police report, Meekins had been teaching Johnny how to swim.
If Meekins posts bond, the judge ordered him not to live in a house with small children. He will also be required to wear a monitoring device.
