Tropical Storm Hanna may be the cause of an overnight fire at a law firm in Georgetown.
According to fire officials winds may have knocked down a power line that sparked the fire on Screven Street around 4:30 am. The fire burned in two buildings, but it wasn’t visible from the street.
One firefighter was injured while putting out the flames, but his injuries were not serious.
Tropical Storm Hanna didn’t cause much damage in Georgetown County, there were a couple of reports of downed trees and minor flooding.
This was the first weather-related fire Georgetown City Fire Department has responded to as a result of Hanna.
