Mount Pleasant police arrested the suspect they were looking for after a chase that ended when he crashed into two police cars.
According to a department spokesman, an officer noticed a vehicle behind a business on Lowcountry Blvd. Officers stepped up patrols in the area because of a number of air conditioning units being destroyed so thieves could steal copper.
The suspect took off and the officer tried to stop him. Officers say the suspect pulled into the Days Inn parking lot on Magrath Darby Blvd and hit a vehicle, before hitting two police cars that boxed him in. The suspect took off on foot, but MPPD tracked him down.
Police are not releasing any information about the suspect or the details about his arrest.
