O.J. Simpson could be spending the rest of his life in prison.
The one-time football hero has been convicted on a dozen charges related to the armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room last year. Simpson and his lawyers argued the incident was not a robbery, but an attempt to reclaim mementos that had been stolen from him.
He’ll be sentenced on December 5th. He was taken into custody shortly after the charges were read against him. As spectators left the courtroom, Simpson’s sister collapsed and paramedics were called.
The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
Simpson’s attorney says his client’s “only hope is the appellate process.”
