School and office closings

As news comes in about school and office closings in the community, we will continue to update this page. Below is the current list we have at this moment:

1. Charleston County Schools and Offices will be closed on Friday
2. Georgetown County Schools will be closed tomorrow.  With the exception of mission essential personnel, School District Offices will be closed as well.
3. Mason Preparatory School, 56 Halsey Blvd, Charleston will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 5th in accordance with Charleston County Public Schools.
4. The Dry Run run/walk for Family Recovery Court will be rescheduled
5. Westminster Presbyterian Preschool will be closed tomorrow, Friday September 5th in accordance with the Charleston County school closings.
6. Beaufort County schools will be closed to students on Friday
7. All Beaufort County and municipal government offices will be open and operating on routine schedules on Friday
8. Berkeley County schools and offices will operate on a half day schedule, Friday, September 5. All after school activities are canceled including after school day care.
9. The Charleston School of Law will be closed Friday, but will resume normal operations Saturday, Dean Andy Abrams announced today.
10. Ashley Hall will run a half day schedule on Friday.  Please see the school website for dismissal times.
11. Trident Technical College has cancelled all classes for Friday, Sept. 5. At this time, the college plans to hold Saturday classes as scheduled. Students with Saturday classes should call TTC’s Emergency Infoline at 574.6262, extension 9091, after 3 p.m. Friday or visit the college’s Web site at http://www.tridenttech.edu for an update on Saturday class schedules.
12. Dorchester School District 4 will operate on Half Day schedule Friday. Lunch will be served.
13: All commercial flights out of Hilton Head have been suspended starting at 12:00 pm Friday, September 5th until further notice.
14. Miller-Motte Technical College will be closing at 12:00pm on Friday, September 5th and reopening on Monday, September 8th at 7:00am.  All classes will be cancelled throughout the weekend due to the pending inclement weather.
15.Cathedral Academy, North Charleston, will dismiss elementary students at 11:00am and middle and high school students at 11:30 Friday, September 5. No after school programs will be provided.
16. MUSC Clinics will be closed Friday, September 5th. MUSC Classes will be cancelled Friday, September 5th. University designated personnel (non-Authority personnel) are expected to report to work unless notified by their supervisor that they are released. Non-designated employees may choose to use annual leave or non-paid leave if granted by their supervisor.
17. The Children’s Center at Carolina Park will be closed on Friday, September 5th
18. Charleston County Public Library’s 16 locations and all library book drops will close Friday, September 5, 2008
19. College of Charleston has cancelled all classes and activities/programs on campus for Septemeber 5 and 6. Classes will resume Sept. 8.
20. Tidelands Bank Charleston locations will be closing at noon Friday.
Roper St. Francis Learning Center 20th Anniversary celebration and reunion is moving to Sunday, Sept 7, 3-5 p.m.
21.Roper St. Francis Learning Center will close at 11 a.m. Friday.
22. Lowcountry Senior Center will close at noon Friday.
23.The Ken Burger Prostrate Challenge is postponed and will be rescheduled.
24. All Roper St. Francis Healthcare Outpatient Diagnostic Centers will close at noon on Friday with the exception of diagnostic services provided at freestanding emergency departments.
25. Rotorion North America will close at 6:30 a.m. Friday. There will be no production activites at our facility on Friday.
26. Palmetto Academy, Inc is closed Friday.
27. Williamsburg County School District will operate on a half-day schedule on Friday.
28. Williamsburg Academy is on a half-day schedule Friday.
29. Laurel Bay DOD schools are closed on Friday.
30. Children’s Center at Carolina Park will be closed Friday.
31. The Jewish Community Center will close at 5:00 p.m. Thursday and re-open Sunday.
32. Limestone College, Charleston Site Evening Classes are canceled for Friday.
33. The Art Institute of Charleston has cancelled all classes for Friday and Saturday.
34. Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage will be closed on Friday and Saturday.
35. Colleton County Public Schools will dismiss early: Elementary 10:50 a.m., High Schools, 11:30 a.m., Middle Schools 12:00 p.m.
36. New Beginnings Community Church Preschool on James Island is closed Friday.
37. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, will grant Administrative leave for employees in the Hagood St., Conway and CASA offices for Friday.
38. Dorchester School District Two will have early dismissal on Friday: Givhans Alternative 9:30 a.m., Elementary Schools 10:30 a.m., High Schools 11:30 a.m., Middle Schools, 12:30 p.m. and Rollings Middle School 12:15 p.m.
39. South Carolina Aquarium will be closed Friday.
40. Palmetto Christian Academy will be closed Friday.
41. The Charleston Museum and its two historic houses (Heyward-Washington House & Joseph Manigault House) will be closed on Friday, September 05 and Saturday, September 06 due to storm conditions.
42. Due to the possibility of inclement weather, all Heritage Trust Branches and Operations Center will be closing today (Friday, September 5) at 2:00 p.m.
43. Synagogue Emanu-El has cancelled Friday night Shabbat services for Sept.5th
44. Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre closing at 2pm on Friday, September 5th
