A car hit the back of a school bus Friday afternoon and then fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The bus was coming from Alice Birney Middle School and had 21 students on board. There were no reports of serious injuries but eight students were taken to local hospitals for evaluation.
According to Spencer Pryor, Director of Public Safety Communications for the City of North Charleston Police Department, a white Honda with dark tinted window hit the bus and left the scene.
