A South Carolina Senate panel is meeting to discuss how to close a financial gap pinching budgets at the state's fastest growing school districts.
The Senate Education Funding Study Committee meets Thursday and will hear from state Rep. Jeff Duncan.
The Clinton Republican is running a similar panel in the House and advocates having more of the state's money tied to children instead of the districts they attend.
Duncan says having the money follow the child to the school their parents choose to send them too is a better idea than trying to put more into schools.
