Coroner identifies 2 people killed in Goose Creek

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) -- On November 15 at 1:30 p.m. the Berkeley County Coroner's Office received a call of a death on Sarah Drive in the City of Goose Creek.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, he found Deborah Rogers, 50, lying in her bed with a laceration to her neck.  She was pronounced dead by Coroner Salisbury.

Police had come to the home on a well fair check and met with Alex Schaffer, 38, who is also a resident of that address.

Before police entered the home, Schaffer attempted suicide.  He was transported by EMS to Trident Hospital where he died at 2:36 a.m.

Any autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Rogers on Wednesday.  More information will be released after the autopsy.
