The 10-year wait is over as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is finally released.
People were lining up early Thursday outside theaters across the Lowcountry to catch the first new installment of the sci-fi blockbuster since 2005's "Revenge of the Sith", many of them wearing costumes of their favorite characters. Theaters such as Regal's Palmetto Grande in Mt. Pleasant and Citadel Mall in North Charleston will be showing the movie on multiple screens.
Early reviews of the movie are mostly positive without giving away too many plot details, including whether or not Luke Skywalker makes an appearance. Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca are some of the popular characters who are featured in this latest installment.
