Bishop baseball wins lower state title

May 9, 2018 - The Bishop England baseball team was looking to win the lower state title in one game, but they had to do it in two against Gilbert on Wednesday night.

In the first game of the night, Gilbert came out hot leading Bishop England 3-0 by the third inning.

The Bishops know how to fight though. They came back and in the 7th inning made it a 3-2 game, but ended up losing.

Gilbert had to beat them twice though to advance.

In game two it was BE who came out with runs early. The Bishops scored two runs in the third inning. Those were the only runs they scored.\

Geoffrey Gilbert had ten strikeouts by the end of the 5th.

Gilbert scored one run in the 6th, but that wasn't enough.

Bishop England wins the 3A lower state title and advances to the state series where they will face Seneca starting on Saturday.
