Policing our schools: CCSD board moves ahead with plans

CCSD votes to invite law enforcement into schools. CCSD votes to invite law enforcement into schools.

At a Charleston County School District meeting Monday night, the board voted 7-1 to move forward with policing district-wide schools.

The board voted to invite law enforcement agencies to propose agreements to place School Resource Officers in CCSD schools.

The board supports the move, but did not offer to pay for it. Law enforcement agencies would need to front the bill for additional presence.
