Police arrested a man for pointing a firearm at a police officer on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.
The
responding officer said he saw the driver, later identified as Matthew
Ribinson, sitting in the drivers seat with his eyes closed, according to
the police report.
The officer said after he repeatedly tried to
speak to Ribinson, the suspect pulled out black pistol and pointed it at
the officer's head. The officer said he quickly ducked and ran into
some nearby bushes for cover until backup units arrived.
When the
officer approached Ribsinson again and read him his Miranda Rights,
Ribsinson denied pointing the gun at the officer, according to the
report. The officer said the suspect appeared "grossly intoxicated" and
that he has glassy and bloodshot eyes. Ribsinson admitted that "he had a
couple of beers earlier."
