Christine grew up outside of Dayton, Ohio dealing with all sorts of weather from tornados to blizzards. Her fear of tornados and thunderstorms is actually what prompted her to study the weather. The more she learned, the less scared she became and the more intrigued she was in meteorology.
Christine moved south for college to the University of South Carolina to get a taste of the warmer weather and beaches South Carolina has to offer. During college, Christine studied abroad for a semester in a small town outside of Venice, Italy. It was one of her favorite college experiences as she got to study international journalism and learn about a new culture. While in Italy, Christine also learned to speak Italian. After graduation from USC, Christine enrolled in Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Distance Learning Program, knowing that meteorology was the career for her.
In 2008, Christine began working at WIS News 10 in Columbia, South Carolina after a summer internship. She learned a lot from the folks in Midlands. During her years at WIS she did a little bit of everything from assignment editor to Saturday morning forecaster to fill-in producer.
In the spring of 2011, Christine made a cross-country move to Big Sky country. She took a job at KPAX in Missoula, Montana as the weekend meteorologist and reporter. In the fall of 2011, Christine moved to the morning show where she helped to get the folks of Western Montana out the door every morning come rain, wind, sun or snow.
Christine is thrilled to return to the South and the warmer weather. She could not be happier to come home to the Palmetto State. She is looking forward to covering the weather and important community issues all across the Lowcountry.
Christine is very active in her community. She loves going on school visits or other community events to meet new people including you! Outside of work, Christine can be found in the gym teaching Zumba, running half marathons with her dog, Maggie, cheering on the Gamecocks, at the local coffee shop reading a book or spending the day relaxing at the beach but she's always keeping up with the weather!
