Police arrest suspect in downtown robbery

Police arrested a suspect about 20 minutes after an armed robbery at Calhoun street and Coming Street early Monday morning.

Theodore Robert Nelson is charged with armed robbery, unlawful carrying of a handgun and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Police were dispatched at 4:20 a.m. to Coming Street and Calhoun Street in reference to armed robbery in progress. When police arrived on scene, the victim told the officers he was just robbed of his iPhone by a man armed with a handgun.

The victim provided officers with a description of the suspect.

The officers found the suspect riding a lime green bicycle in the area of Coming Street and Radcliffe Street.
