Washington, D.C. -
The FAA has reportedly given the green light to a flight of the
grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliner as engineers work to target the cause of a
battery problem.
According to a report in the New York Times,
federal regulators approved Boeing's request for the test late
Wednesday. The Dreamliner involved will leave a painting plant in Fort
Worth, and arrive in Seattle. But the Times report says, the flight is not approved for tests on the lithium ion battery.
Two recent fires, linked to the battery forced aviation safety agencies around the world to ground the fleet last month.
The National Transportation Safety Board held a press conference at 11 a.m. Thursday to offer an update on the investigation.
