Woman charged in wreck that killed Kingstree basketball coach

The woman who police say caused a wreck, the ultimately killed a Kingstree basketball coach in Williamsburg county is now charged.

The wreck happened Tuesday night when 39 year old Sonya Burgess was driving on highway 52 in Cates.

Burgess' car flipped as she tried to avoid a head-on collision with Daveline Leshon Holmes from Georgetown. Burgess was ejected from the car, then hit by another passing car. Investigators say that car left the scene. In court Wednesday, we learned that person has come forward, but they haven't released information since they're still investigating.

Holmes was given $100,000 bond for reckless homicide and $15,000 bond for the hit and run charge.
