2 Your Health: Free screenings at East Cooper Medical

CHARLESTON, SC -

East Cooper Medical Center will offer a free community health event at the hospital, located at 2000 Hospital Drive in Mt. Pleasant.  The event will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.   

There will be free health screenings including: cholesterol; diabetes; blood pressure; osteoporosis; foot screenings and ergonomic assessments.  There will also be opportunity for consultations with family physicians; podiatrists; diabetic educators and sleep disorder and breast health specialists.

For those with osteoarthritis of the knee, there will be an opportunity to learn more about MAKOplasty®, a procedure powered by a robotic arm – the only one in South Carolina – designed to relieve pain and restore range of motion.

    In addition to very heavy rain and lightning, the main threats with this storm are damaging straight line winds in excess of 60 mph and hail up to quarter size.
