A Charleston County Deputy is charged by SLED, and is on administrative leave, after dashcam video of a November arrest is released. Some called it police brutality.

Deputy Christopher Davis and 2 other Charleston County deputies attempted to arrest Devonte Pittman back on November 11th in West Ashley.

They say when asked to get out of his car, Pittman became belligerent and unruly.

When the deputy reached into the suspects car, they say he grabbed the deputies arm and the struggle ensued.

Pittman was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and was charged with assault and battery.

Later, Pittman filed a lawsuit against the Charleston county sheriffs office.

Deputy Davis is now facing charges by the State Law Enforcement Division and has been placed unpaid administrative leave.
