Lowcountry football player in the running to grace cover of Madden NFL 25

Posted: Updated:

A Lowcountry football player has the chance to be immortalized on the cover of popular video game Madden NFL 25. Former Summerville superstar AJ Green is up for the vote to grace the cover, competing for votes against 63 others.

This year Madden is using a bracket similar to the one used by the NCAA basketball tournament to decide the winner, pitting Old School - NFL legends - versus New School - current players. In the first round of the voting process AJ is in direct competition with Matt Forte of the Chicago Bears.

A former coach of Aj's, Joe Call, says it is truly amazing to think a local player could be immortalized like that. "The Madden NFL video game is the biggest video game in the world. Year after year you see all the NFL guys on there and it is the best player in the league on the cover, and for AJ to be considered it's pretty cool."

"He is one of our own so get out there and vote for him and get online."
