PASS testing begins Tuesday in state schools

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday, public school students across the state in grades three through eight will begin taking the PASS test, Palmetto Assessment of State Standards.

PASS measures student performance on the South Carolina academic standards. Results are used for school, district, and federal No Child Left Behind accountability purposes.

The writing test begins Tuesday, March 19th, and will be administered over two days. Students will take the remainder of the PASS test, English Language Arts, math, science, and social studies the week of May 7th.

PASS was first administered in the spring of 2009, and replaced the PACT test.
