Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in McClellanville

Thursday morning, Herman Korey White turned himself into the Charleston County Sheriff's Office for his involvement in the shooting of Kevin Middleton on March 19, 2013.

White is being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center on the charges of Attempted Murder and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

His bond hearing was held Thursdayat 2 p.m. His total bond amount is $300,000.

On March 19, 2013, the Charleston County Sheriff's office responded to the McClellanville area to investigate a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they were met by the victim and his brother, who stated that Herman White and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation, which resulted in the victim being shot.

The victim identified Herman White as the individual that shot him and fled from the scene.

The victim was flown to MUSC by helicopter to be treated for his injuries.
