"Please have a seat"
Madison Egger loves having an audience around her.
"My name is Madison ... my name is Madison and I am 6 and I am 6"
Her mother Jordan Egger believes the 6 year old deserves all the laughs and the love that come after beating the odds.
"They had never heard of any child being this small having surgery that she did." Jordan said
Jordan gave birth to Madison when she was 6 months pregnant. Her heart rate was too fast when she born. Doctors detected a problem with her heart valve. She underwent 2 cardiac ablations to burn the circuit that was causing the potentially fatal condition.
"They automatically knew that something was wrong, but when (they went in) they damaged her mitrovalve." Jordan said
And that began Madison's life in the operating room and in the hospital. She has undergone 2 open heart surgeries and dozens of blood transfusions.
"Through the process of a year and a half she had 72 transfusions." Jordan said
But despite their concerns about the heart that beats in her body, they are forever grateful that so many gave the gift of life.
"If nobody had donated blood at all then Madison wouldn't be here" Jordan said.
But she is here and when she needs blood again, for 2 additional heart surgeries in a few years, the hope and belief is that the blood will be there again.
