NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -

A man is arrested after a standoff with police.

William Rice had barricaded himself into a home in North Charleston, according to officials with the US Marshals Service. Both federal and local law enforcement surrounded a home off Spring Creek Road.

Brad Dorn with the US Marshal's Office says Berkeley County Sheriff's Office asked for US Marshals' assistance with Rice who was wanted for armed robbery. When deputies responded to the Friday, the homeowner told deputies that there were five people in the home, and Rice was still inside. The other four people in the home were cooperating with authorities, Dorn said.

The standoff came to an end shortly after 4:30pm Friday.
