Wanted man arrested for assault and battery

A North Charleston man was arrested Monday evening by the Charleston Police Department for three counts of second-degree assault and battery.

According to a statement from CPD, David Capers was taken into custody about 6 p.m. Monday  at a residence on Stonehedge Road by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Last Monday, March 18, around 8:20 p.m., Capers allegedly fired a handgun once into a vehicle with three passengers as it drove away on Evergreen Street.  One of the passengers was a juvenile. 

Capers will have a bond hearing Tuesday at 2 p.m.
