Driver charged with DUI after wreck involving school bus

On March 28th, around 6:00 p.m., Charleston County Traffic Deputies charged Samuel D. Brown with 1st Offense Driving Under the Influence and Open Container, as a result of the investigation into Wednesday's three car accident on Ladson Road involving a school bus.

Brown was the driver of the black in color Chrysler that collided with a trailer being pulled by a white in color Ford F-150 truck. The collision caused the truck to veer into the path of the school bus which struck the truck. Five students and two vehicle occupants including Brown were transported from the scene with minor injuries.  

During the accident investigation several open containers of beer were found in Brown's vehicle.

Brown who was still hospitalized was issued citations for the listed charges and is scheduled for Magistrates court on May 2nd.
