Awendaw accident sends one to hospital

One person is hospitalized after a single-car accident in Awendaw.  It happened around 6:30 Monday evening at Steed Creek Road near Halfway Creek Road.

Charleston County Deputies say the driver of a Chevy Blazer left the road.  The driver then overcorrected and caused the vehicle to flip, throwing the driver. 

The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.  The driver's location is not yet known.
