Three found shot at Colleton County home

COLLETON COUNTY, SC -

Shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday night, the Colleton County Sheriff's Office 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a home just outside Walterboro stating that he had been shot.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found three victims of apparent gunshot wounds at the residence. Two were underneath the attached carport and one was just inside the door going into the residence from the carport. It was later confirmed the two men reside at the address and the female victim is a friend that frequently visits. A fourth person was found in the residence in a back room unharmed and was identified as the grandmother of the two male victims.

All three victims were conscious and alert before being transported for medical attention.A male and female victim were transported to the Colleton Regional Hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Another male victim was flown to MUSC Hospital in critical condition.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained by the Sheriff's Office and several items were seized as possible evidence, among them was a quantity of substance believed to be marijuana along with scales, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

It is unknown at this time if the weapon recovered was used in the shooting or if the substances recovered during the search had any connection to the shooting. The victims did not indicate who the suspects may have been or what the possible motive for the shooting was.

The incident continues to be under investigation but no one has been charged with the shooting at this time and a motive is still unknown.
