Police seize sweepstakes gambling machines in Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC -

Deputies with the Drug Enforcement Unit of The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office have seized more illegal gambling machines in an on-going investigation.

Agents raided an establishment at 2140 Highway 41 in Wando, SC, known as A.J.'s, and have confiscated 10 sweepstakes poker machines.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is conducting this operation in conjunction with a statewide crack-down by S.L.E.D (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) on these illegal gambling machines.

Charges against the owner of A.J.'s, which could include civil and/or criminal, are forthcoming.
