RAVENEL, SC -

Ponies and partygoers will gather Sunday, May 12 for the Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club Spring Invitational presented by McDaniels Audi of Charleston.

Professionals from the United States and abroad will face off with area amateurs in two matches, with portions of the proceeds benefiting Rein and Shine, a unique equine therapy facility.

The 2013 event will feature an expanded format with a pair of matches, beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Among the players participating will be South Carolina legislator Chip Limehouse, whose team is sponsored by Halls Chophouse.

In addition, the Spring Invitational will feature live music, and food and beverages from local vendors. Reserved tents are available for groups, while tailgating spots along the field can be purchased in advance. The gate opens at 11 a.m., and all parking is free.

Advance tickets are $20 for adults ($25 at gate), while children 10 and under are admitted free. Also available  a limited number of special VIP passes that include admission, as well as access to the Snyder Polo Lounge, a well-appointed tent offering front-row seats and a variety of free refreshments.

"The enthusiasm for our matches continues to grow and spread, which is very exciting," says Amy Vann Flowers, owner of Hyde Park Farm. "We're attracting horse and polo enthusiasts from around the region, as well as groups of friends and families who want to enjoy a great all-day outdoor party. Plus, it also benefits a wonderful organization."

"Being presenting sponsor of these great events is something we're truly enjoying," said Bill McDaniels. "And we're particularly proud our involvement allows us to help such a wonderful local group as Rein and Shine."

McDaniels Automotive Group operates multiple dealerships in Charleston and Columbia. Known for his philanthropic efforts, McDaniels has spearheaded the effort to raise $3 million for the Palmetto Health Cancer Centers.

Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club is located at 6763 Davis Road, Ravenel, SC 29470.
