MOUNT PLEASANT, SC -

A Mount Pleasant man has been arrested and charged with the death of a 2-year-old boy he was watching earlier this year.

Twenty-five-year-old Bryan Okeith Seabrook was arrested Thursday and charged with homicide by child abuse.

Police Maj. Stan Gragg says an investigation showed that the child died in a hospital March 19 of severe abdominal injuries as a result of blunt-force trauma.

Police did not release the names of the boy or his mother.

A police report said the boy's mother left to go to a class and left Seabrook watching her son and two daughters.

Seabrook told police the boy had vomited and appeared weak and he decided to take him to the hospital, where he died.

It was not clear if Seabrook has an attorney.
