The Ohio State Highway Patrol is searching for a man thought
to be behind the wheel in a crash that killed a 19-year-old, a 35-year-old, and
the woman's unborn child.
According to the patrol, Paul Riggs Jr. was spotted leaving the
scene of the fatal crash on River Road in Waverly Monday night.
Riggs was last seen fleeing the scene of a crash that killed Tina L.
Ogier, 35, her unborn child, and passenger Mary Jane E. Cooper, 19, all
of Beaver, Ohio, according to troopers.
A 14-year-old boy was injured in the crash. He is currently listed in
fair condition at Nationwide Children's Hospital, according to hospital
Ogier was traveling westbound on River Road in a 1998 Plymouth Breeze
when a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveling eastbound on River Road
traveled left of center and struck her vehicle head-on. Troopers say
Riggs was driving the Monte Carlo and hasn't been seen or heard from since.
"We're going to keep working the area, keep working the area
until we find him," Sgt. Heath Ward with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Officials said Riggs has a warrant on three counts of aggravated
vehicular homicide, and one count of aggravated vehicular assault.
Those who investigate and were first responders said it was one of those scenes you never want to see.
"It does hurt, affects us. We are all human beings. We try
to protect the community and keep it safe, but it breaks your heart," Ward
Teams are working the area in Pike County, they are looking
for tips to find Riggs, and get answers.
"Following all the leads, it's good to have the office of
investigative services, and good to have our intelligence unit," Ward
