CHARLESTON, SC -

Officials with the City of Charleston announced Monday that the entrance from Maybank Highway to the Angle Oak Park entrance is ready for traffic.

Near record rainfalls and no end in sight

A remaining portion of the the road, to and from Bowhicket, will be closed until further repairs are completed.

Last week after several days of wet weather the Angel Oak Park on Johns Island had to close its gates Friday June 28.  

The dirt road leading up to the famous tree was impassable with mud.
