Alex Rodriguez has arrived at Riley Park in Charleston and says he is excited about playing in his first game since hip surgery earlier this year.

"This place is beautiful", Rodriguez said as he walked into the ballpark early Tuesday afternoon.  He signed several autographs as he walked in.

A-Rod arrived in Charleston late Monday night and is expected to be in Charleston through Wednesday.  He is scheduled to play third base for the first three innings of the RiverDogs game against Rome tonight.  He confirmed to News 2 that he will play Wednesday night.

Despite the forecast for rain, ticket sales have been brisk for the Yankees Class A affiliate.  The only tickets left are for Standing Room Only.

Rodriguez is expected to take batting practice prior to  Tuesday's game.  He has already talked to the media about playing and will talk again after the game.
