BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men they say shot at and then carjacked a 40 year old man.

Deputies were called to Kinloch Road around 1:00 a.m. Saturday.

The victim told authorities he was driving to his girlfriend's home when he noticed a large tree branch lying in the driveway.

As he got out of the car to move the branch the victim told deputies he heard a male's voice coming from some nearby woods.

Two men then came out and were armed with a handgun and shotgun, authorities said.

The victim dropped the branch and ran to his girlfriend's home leaving his car running in the driveway.

As he ran, deputies say the man heard several shots being fired behind him but he was able to make it inside uninjured.

Authorities say several rounds ended-up inside the home and in his girlfriend's vehicle causing about $1,200 in damage.

When the shots ended the victim went back outside and found that his 2013 Dodge Challenger was gone.

It was later found abandoned off Stroban Road.

The victim was only able to provide a vague description of the gunmen to authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator SSgt. J. Fraser at (843) 255-3416 or Crimestoppers.
