CHARLESTON, SC -

Officials with the Charleston County Aviation Authority say the Federal Aviation Administration is concerned about the sale of airport property to Boeing.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that authority attorney Arnold Goodstein says the FAA is concerned about the sale of 320 acres to Boeing. The company has a huge complex in North Charleston currently building 787 Dreamliner passenger jets.

The aviation authority voted to sell the land for $12.5 million.

Aviation authority chairman Andy Savage says the FAA is concerned about the purchase price and the effect the land sale could have on airport operations.

The land sale requires FAA approval. Savage and Goodstein met with FAA authorities Monday in Washington about the deal.

A Boeing spokeswoman would not talk about the deal.
