BERKELEY COUNTY, SC -

CoonFest 2013 is scheduled to be one of the biggest events ever.

Law enforcement and boating safety officials say the event is getting big enough that they plan to come together to enforce the law on the water this year.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is planning on setting up a command center on Bonneau Beach. They will be writing tickets for boating safety violations, boating under the influence and under-age drinking violations.

CoonFest takes place at Racoon Island, which is an island on Lake Moultrie near Bonneau Beach. Boaters ride out to the island and spend the day partying.

Recording artist Eddie Bush will be singing at the 2013 Coonfest.

Billy Clark grew up in Bonneau Beach. He says CoonFest is good for businesses in the area, "Bonneau is a little slow sometimes. But whenever events come out like CoonFest, every store gets a lot more business."

The festival takes place Saturday from early in the morning until late in the evening.
