Mount Pleasant dentistry to provide free services

Posted: Updated:

A Pleasant Family Dentistry in Mount Pleasant will host their annual Dentistry from the Heart event on Saturday, August 17th. Beginning at 8 AM, residents will be able to register for free services including cleanings, fillings or extractions.

The first 100 patients over the age of 18 are guaranteed to be seen.

In 2001, Dentistry from the Heart started with New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent Monticciolo as a way to give back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Since its inception, Dentistry From the Heart has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and provided more than 45,000 people with free dental services.

This is the second year Dr. Jackowski and Dr. Johnson and their team have participated in the event. They will donate more than $40,000 in free dental care.

"It all comes down to wanting to provide something greater to my community, " said Dr. Johnson. "The services provided by Dentistry From the Heart helps more than just a patient's teeth, it gives them a renewed reason to smile."
