Posted: Updated:

The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested a woman who was wanted for abducting her 7 year old daughter and 6 year old son.

At 10:12pm Saturday night, Bethmarie N. Retamozzo was arrested. She is wanted by the FBI for abducting her children from their grandparents house in Maine.

Retamozzo is the child's parents, but she does not have legal custody. A Be on the Lookout (BOLO) for the 1999 Nissan Quest she was driving with a New York tag was broadcast out to the troopers. They found the van parked at the 47MM on I-95's rest area.

Retamozzo will be booked at the Colleton County Detention Center and charged by the highway patrol with Fugitive of Justice. They will hold her until the FBI takes custody of her.

The children will be turned over to Colleton County Department of Social Services.
