If you are in Florence Tuesday, don't be alarmed if you see fighter jets escorting a single-engine aircraft. It is part of a drill.

The South Carolina Air National Guard announced today, "fighter jets assigned to the SCANG's 169th Fighter Wing might be seen escorting a single-engine aircraft belonging to the South Carolina Civil Air Patrol between 2 to 6 p.m." on Tuesday near Florence.

According to National Guard officials, the carefully planned exercises are closely controlled, and are meant to ensure the quick response to any possible threat
