Lane closures continue at Charleston International Airport

Posted: Updated:

Lanes remain closed at Charleston International Airport through Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson at the airport, continued rain over the last two weeks prolonged work at the inside pick-up and drop-off lanes in front of the terminal building.

The closure was necessary to accommodate equipment at the site of the airport's new Rental Car Pavilion. That construction is one part of the Terminal Redevelopment and Improvement Program (TRIP) under way at Charleston International.

The lanes will remain closed to traffic through Wednesday. The inside traffic lanes are tentatively scheduled to reopen on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 29.

Curbside activities, including passenger pick up and drop off, skycap service and taxi, shuttle, and valet services, will take place from the commercial curbside area in the exterior four lanes.
