Alston Middle School receives Cool School award

News 2 presents Alston Middle School with our Cool School award.

All week we've shown you all the cool things taking place at Alston Middle School in Dorchester county. Alston Middle School in Dorchester District Two is an arts infused community school, where academics, the arts, and athletics come together.

The arts program is a point of pride. Alston earned the Palmetto Gold award for academic excellence. Boeing awarded Alston a 75-thousand-dollar grant to implement an engineering program this year called Gateway to Technology.

The school is proud of it's Chef's program, which includes a student garden. Earlier we presented the Alston Middle School Tigers with our Cool School award.

    (WCBD) More evidence has surfaced that lead experts to believe that the Gaboon Viper is still on the loose in Harbor Pointe Apartments. What is now only pieces of the snake's skin was approximately 95% of the shed skin when it was found, only missing part of the head.
