MOUNT PLEASANT, SC -

Forensic teams are now working in the area where a Charleston County detective discovered a body Monday night.

According to Major Jim Brady, the body was discovered just off of McGrath Darby Boulevard around 8:30 Monday night just down from a power station.

A host of agencies, including the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Mount Pleasant police and the Charleston County Coroner, filled the area just steps away from the Arthur Ravenel Bridge.

Officials said a detective found the body while searching the area as part of an on-going investigation. Brady declined to comment on any information about which case the body may be related to. Deputies did say, foul play is suspected.

"We are trying to determine the circumstances of the body being found here, and the Coroner's office is assisting us with that," Major Brady said.
