CHARLESTON, SC -

Medal of Honor recipient Army Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry is visiting The Citadel to talk to cadets about leadership and his experiences in the Army.

Petry received the medal for helping his comrades in a firefight with the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2008. He lost his right hand in the action and now works out of Fort Lewis, Wash., with wounded warriors and ill and injured members of their families.

He told The Associated Press that leadership entails both teamwork and resiliency. Petry says he has no regrets about his choice to serve his nation in the Army.

He speaks to cadets and the public Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Petry participates in the school's third annual leadership day in which students work throughout the community on public service projects.
