Posted: Updated:

A georgetown firefighter was taken to an emergency room to be treated for possible dehydration while fighting a fire in a pizza shop on South Fraser Street Thursday morning, according to the Georgetown Times.

The fire started inside Family Pizza in Maryville at around 2:30 a.m., and Georgetown City Fire Chief Joey Tanner tells the Georgetown Times the business was "severely damaged". Firefighters reported seeing flames coming through the roof of the second floor of the building when they arrived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It has been a busy last few weeks for Georgetown firefighters, and tough for business owners. Several businesses were destroyed by fire in the heart of Downtown Georgetown at the end of September.
